Castalia Communications, independent producer and distributor of broadcast, satellite, cable and web-based content, has signed an agreement with the China International TV Corporation (CITVC) to distribute China Central Television (CCTV) in Latin America. CITVC is the commercial arm of CCTV, the national television network of the People’s Republic of China.
The multi-platform deal, which was made during this month’s NATPE 2010 Market & Conference, involves program syndication in Latin America. Today’s news reinforces CITVC’s “Going Global” initiative and marks a first for Castalia Communications in expanding its reach into China to continue bringing programming to broadcast, satellite, cable and web-based programmers and distributors in Latin America.
The programming included in the CITVC / Castalia Communications distribution deal encompasses CITVC’s classic TV dramas, documentaries, cartoons, entertainment shows and feature programs. Key titles include “Entangling Love in Shanghai,” “King of Silk,” “Taipei Palace Museum,” “The Great Three Gorges Dam,” “The Han Triumph,” “The Yoga Series,” and “Happy in China,” among other series and specials.
