Antonio Villaraigosa has joined Estrella TV as a senior advisor to help the 4-year-old television network better compete with more established Spanish-language broadcasters, The Los Angeles Times reports.

NBC Universal owned Television StationsMike Chico was named senior VP, sales, for the Telemundo Station Group. He was most recently senior VP, national sales, at Clear Channel Outdoor. Prior to that he was executive VP of ad sales for MSG from 2006-2008, where he oversaw sales for MSG Network, FSN New York and the New York Knickerbockers and New York Rangers. He also was senior VP of East Coast sales at NBC, and prior to that was senior VP of Olympic sales and marketing. Chico will report to Frank Comerford, chief revenue officer and president of commercial operations for the NBCU Owned Television Stations.

Carlos A. San Jose was named by Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. as Market President for Chicago, one of the company’s largest operations. In his new role, San Jose will serve as a key member of Clear Channel Outdoor’s senior management team and will direct all aspects of branch operations including finance, operations, real estate.

Melissa Ortiz ,until recently working at ad operations services firm Operative, recently was appointed as Training Manager at Sprinklr.

Pinta, a new cross-cultural marketing agency spun-off the Jeffrey Group announced its new senior management team, led by Mike Valdes-Fauli. He is joined  by Alex Barreras, who had been Creative Director at a number of ad agencies; Romina Bongiovanni, formerly a Senior Vice President of Edelman’s Multicultural Practice and most recently owner of Journey Marketing in Los Angeles which Pinta has acquired; Joe Gutierrez as Managing Director in New York and Head of Strategic Planning, who previously held executive positions at agencies including Global Hue, The Vidal Partnership and Kirshenbaum Bond; and Lauren Cortiñas, joining from JeffreyGroup, who will serve as Managing Director of Communications, servicing the firm’s legacy PR business.

Tatiana Oviedo, until recently at the Jeffrey Group,  is now a Senior Account Executive at Boden PR.

Hilda Gabriela Hernández has founded “In Pink Clouds Hispanic Media”, a new media company that will offer the first line of Quinceañera-specific brands all operating under one media house. “It’s an exciting time to be in this space and to assist brands in connecting with the Hispanic youth and Quince market.” At the forefront of the multiplatform media vehicle is HildaGabriela.com, an English- language site designed for Hispanic families looking for assistance in planning a Quince or Sweet 16.  Hernández previously worked at EC Hispanic Media and SIGO

Joshua Engroff has joined The Media Kitchen as chief digital officer and as managing director of KBS+ Ventures. Both are units of MDC Partners. Per a report in MediaPost, Engroff succeeds Darren Harman, who recently took a senior post at Mozilla. Engroff was most recently general manager of mobile operations at Distillery, which was previously Media6Degrees. He was also senior VP, digital, at Prometheus Global Media.

Kristin Long was named VP, strategic sales for political and issues advocacy advertising at Tribune, overseeing ad sales in those categories for the Tribune TV station group. She will report to Larry Wert, president of broadcast media at Tribune. Long was most recently general sales manager for Tribune’s WPHL-TV in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she was a group sales executive at ABC national television sales and was project manager at MediaAdVentures for John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

HavasYannick Bollore will replace David Jones  as global CEO of agency holding company Havas, according to media reports. Jones has held the post since 2011. Jones will also be succeeded as CEO of ad agency Havas Worldwide, with the agency’s global copresident Andrew Benette  moving up. Jones had been CEO of Havas Worldwide since 2009.

Ian Darke has been selected as lead commentator for ESPN’s 2014 FIFA World Cup TV coverage. Darke has been ESPN’s “lead voice” for international soccer since 2010.

The Ayzenberg Group, an independent full-service agency  on the U.S. West Coast, announced that Robert Brill will join the agency as Executive Director of  Programmatic Media effectiveimmediately. Robert Brill will oversee the day-to-day operations for the Influencer Outreach Network.

Kate Lewis was named VP of content operations and editorial director at Hearst Magazines Digital Media. She will oversee websites for Hearst’s 24 magazines. Lewis was previously editorial director at Say Media. She will report to Troy Young, head of digital, who had been president of SayMedia before moving to Hearst in May 2013.

LAPIZ, the agency for emerging cultures inside Leo Burnett, announced the hire of Diego Figueroa as SVP, Strategy and Participation Director. With a keen understanding of the General Market and Multicultural planning, Figueroa will oversee the agency’s Strategy department, which encompasses brand strategy, consumer engagement, research and shopper marketing.

The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has announced a new Chair-Elect, Al Aguilar, Co-Founder and CEO of Creative Civilization, for its 2015 Board of Directors.

Editorial leadership of Time Inc.’s People and Entertainment Weekly is being consolidated under Jess Cagle, recently the editor of EW who is now being promoted to editor of People and editorial director of EW. As a result, People editor of eight years Larry Hackett and style and entertainment group editor Mark Golin will both be leaving the company.
