Jimenez Communications Inc. and Rafael Soto Comunicaciones announced that Boxeo La Revista is now a monthly publication with the first edition becoming available last Saturday January 30 in Mexico City at a fight between three time world champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce and Angky Angkota for the WBO Super Flyweight crown.
The magazine which had been published as the official program of the “Latin Fury” boxing series will now be available as a monthly that will cover upcoming fights, results of fights and will have reports on past boxing stars and stars of the future. The premiere issue will also be distributed in Las Vegas on Feb 13, at the Las Vegas Hilton, in an event of the Latin Fury series. As Rafael Soto, Editor of Boxeo La Revista, told Portada “additional print copies will be distributed at Latin Fury boxing series and at some of the new series that Top Rank and Fox Sports announced for 2010, weekly boxing shows televised in Mexico and the US”.
The second issue will be distributed at Fox Sports boxing fights in Mexico and in the US, and at some local events in Dallas Texas to promote the much anticipated March 13 mega event titled "The Event" Pacquiao vs. Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium.
Main advertisers in Mexico for the first issue will be Tecate and Oxxo, as well as Zanfer Promotions and Top Rank Inc. in the United States and PR Best Boxing in Puerto Rico.
Circulation- Manager and Publisher Ricardo Jimenez said that the publication will be distributed free of charge to boxing fans. “The number of copies should be anywhere from 2,000 to 7,000 per month.”
It will be distributed at some Oxxo retail store locations every month in the state of Sonora, Sinaloa and Baja California. “Currently we are in conversations with major supermarket chains in California to also distribute to the fans in that state, therefore our circulation can increase dramatically if we partner with additional advertisers in the US to distribute the top-editorial boxing magazine to the fans at their locations or events.”, he added.
A digital edition of the magazine will be also available online, Jimenez said. “We launched the custom-made Boxeo La Revista three years ago and we have quite a fan base. Each issue is also posted in major boxing websites in the US and abroad. We anticipate that each monthly digital issue will have over 10,000 readers worldwide.”
