Automotive and packaged goods, both with growth rates higher than 100%, were the two strongest advertising categories during the first three quarters of 2003, according to a survey of the “Big Three” US Hispanic magazines –People en español, Latina and Selecciones Reader's Digest – done by Portadatm. Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics/toiletries took third and fourth place, respectively. Most of the new advertising in Hispanic magazines belongs to these categories.
