Tribune Publishing named Louis Sito as the new president of Hispanic media. Sito is currently president, publisher and CEO of New York daily Hoy. In his newly created position, Sito will be responsible for the strategic direction of Tribune Publishing initiatives in Hispanic media, and for coordinating group activities that include Tribune Spanish language newspapers. As opposed to Hispanic radio and TV, Hispanic print media has remained mostly a local business. It is very difficult for advertisers to do a national buy in Hispanic print media. One of Sito's main tasks will be to create integrated packages so that advertisers can make national buys through Tribune's Hispanic print media. In addition to Hoy, Tribune owns Spanish language weeklies Exito (Chicago), El Sentinel in Orlando and El Sentinel in South Florida. Tribune also owns 50% of La Opinión in Los Angeles.
