Genevieve Marlin-Fernandez was named managing editor of Reader's Digest Selecciones magazine on July 7th. Marlin-Fernandez previously worked as deputy managing editor at People en Español, a magazine which she helped launch. In the U.S. market, Selecciones's guaranteed rate base (copies sold) increased from 275,000 to 325,000 in January of 2003, and is scheduled to increase again to 350,000 in January 2004. About 30% of its content is generated exclusively for Selecciones, with the remainder coming from the flagship magazine and overseas editions. Nine other editions are published in Mexico, Spain, Argentina and other Spanish-speaking nations.
