At the beginning of November, Primedia entered into a definitive agreement to sell its American Baby Group for a total cash consideration of US $115 million to Meredith Corporation. Apart from its Hispanic parenting publications (see page 8 of this issue of Portadatm), American Baby Group includes American Baby Magazine, Healthy Kids, and several other publications, websites and Baby Fair consumer expositions. Meredith executives cited their interest in expanding into the Hispanic market as one of the main rationales for the acquisition.
