In a move to differentiate itself from similar products in other geographic markets, the Spanish-language publication Centro Mi Diario has changed its name to Centro Tampa.
At the same time, Centro Tampa will move to a tabloid format April 10 as a cost-cutting move by its struggling parent, Media General Inc.
Centro Tampa will be focused mostly on Hillsborough County where nearly half of the region’s Hispanic population lives, the paper said. The weekly publication boasts a circulation of 41,000 in Hillsborough and offers free access to an online version.
