Maya Publishing Group is reducing the frequency of two of its magazines.
TVNotas, a weekly publication, will be published every two weeks (twice a month) in 2011, Alexandra Zanic, Marketing Manager at Maya Publishing Group tells Portada. According to Zanic, “the crisis of magazine distributors, due to the high number of magazines that have ceased publication during the last two years, and the results of our focus groups which show that our audience mostly prefers to buy 2 editions per month is the reason we are changing TV Notas circulation from weekly circulation to twice a month.” TV Notas circulation is increasing from 150,000 to 200,000.
Zanic adds that by being published 26 times a year in 2011, TV Notas will maintain its position as the magazine with the highest frequency in the Hispanic entertainment/celebrity magazine category.
Maya Publishing Group is also modifying frequency and circulation of its soccer magazine Récord Semanario de Fútbol. The soccer magazine will now be called Récord Fútbol al Maximo and published on a monthly basis. Until recently it was published twice a month. Circulation will increase from 50,000 to 75,000.
Maya Publishing’s two other titles, mens magazines H para Hombres and H Extremo will mantain their monthly frequency and circulation (75,000 and 50,000 respectively).
Maya Publishing Group is the U.S. subsidiary of Mexican publishing house Notmusa .
