The growth of publications targeting Spanish-speaking audiences is increasing the demand for Spanish content. Both Agencia Efe and Newscom are currently experiencing growth well into the double digits. Emilio Sanchez, head of Efe in the Americas, told Portada® that his company has grown at an annual rate of 20% for the past four years despite the decline of Internet companies, which drove newswire business at the beginning of the decade. Aware of the strong growth potential, mainstream U.S. newswire agencies such as AP are also jumping into the Spanish language market.
