Miami's El Nuevo Herald is the clear leader in advertising revenues among Spanish-language newspapers, with La Opinion from Los Angeles coming in a distant second. The ranking of the top twenty Hispanic newspapers compiled by CMR includes only one new daily – Hoy-Chicago, launched last year. Chicago's Exito (eighth) was incorporated into Hoy-Chicago last September. It will be interesting to see whether the other new Spanish-language dailies – El Nuevo Día (Orlando), Al Día (Dallas/ Ft. Worth), Diario La Estrella (Dallas/ Ft. Worth) and Diario Latino (San Diego), most of them launched in the fourth quarter of last year, will make it into next year's top twenty. According to the CMR data, transportation and Tourism was the leading ad category in terms of revenues with US $14.5 million, followed by Banking and Investment Services (US $ 13.5 mill) and Telecommunications Services (US $12 mill).
