New appointments in the marketing department of Unión Radio and in Grupo Prisa´s Radio Operations in the US

Miguel Angel Pascual Amorrosta, current Director of Marketing and Communications for Unión Radio has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Grupo PRISA. In his new position, Pascual will coordinate all marketing policies and strategies of PRISA and will manage, in coordination with the various business units, the brand portfolio of PRISA, looking to maintain and strengthen its competitive position in the market. In his new role, Pascual will report directly to Andres Cardó, Director of Corporate Development, Sales and Marketing.

As a result of this movement, Juan Pablo Alvarez Nespereira, currently CEO of the radio operations in the US, has been appointed Director of Corporate Marketing of Unión Radio (Grupo PRISA’s radio division) and holds responsibilities for Latin America and Spain.

Juan Pablo has a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Masters in Business Management and Marketing from the Instituto de Empresa. After working at RTVE, COPE and the market research firm Demoscopia, Álvarez joined Grupo PRISA’s GDM in 1990. In 2002, he joined PRISA International Division and, two years later, he moved to Miami as Director of Sales and Marketing of Grupo Latino de Radio (GLR). In 2006, Álvarez was named CEO for the group’s radio business in the US.

Carlos Azcarate, born in Colombia, who until now has held the position of Operations Manager for the company in Argentina, has been appointed as the new CEO for the US and will be based in Miami.

Azcarate got his degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Bogota and a Diploma in Advanced Management Development Program (PAD). Azcarate joined Caracol in 1988. In 1994, he moved to Chile, where he led the formation of Consorcio Radial de Chile. In 2000, he moved to Miami to serve as Director of Finance for Grupo Latino de Radio (GLR). In 2004 he returned to Chile to take responsibility for the operations area in the country. Since mid 2009, Azcarate has been working in Argentina as Operations Manager of Radio Continental.
