ESPN Deportes Radio Signs Sublicense Agreement to Cover Two International Soccer Events

ESPN Deportes Radio has signed a 5-year sublicense agreement with Fox Deportes to offer coverage of the Copa Santander Libertadores de América and Copa Sudamericana through 2015. The radio network will kick-off live coverage Tuesday, Feb. 15 with San Luis vs. Libertad and America vs. Nacional.

ESPN Deportes Radio has signed a 5-year sublicense agreement with Fox Deportes to offer coverage of the Copa Santander Libertadores de América and Copa Sudamericana through 2015. The radio network will kick-off live coverage Tuesday, Feb. 15 with San Luis vs. Libertad and America vs. Nacional.
 
Coverage of the 52nd edition of the tournament will be conducted by ESPN Deportes Radio’s top play by play soccer experts including Jorge Ramos, Hernán Pereyra, Omar Orlando Salazar, Marcelo Masanti, Dionsio Estrada, Manuel Kun, Giovanni Escavia and Ricardo Mayorga who will also do the pre and post game shows.

“This tournament is ideal for our soccer fans because it allows them to follow their home country club teams compete for the most important title in South American soccer. We’re thrilled to add Copa Santander Libertadores de América and Copa Sudamericana to our roster of Play by Play offerings.” said Oscar Ramos, general manager of ESPN Deportes Radio.
 
Established in 1960, the Copa Santander Libertadores is an international annual soccer competition organized by CONMEBOL. 38 teams from 11 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela) will compete for the title in almost 138 matches which will take place in six phases from January to June 2011. The winner of the Copa Libertadores becomes eligible to play in two key tournaments: the FIFA Club World Cup and the Recopa Sudamericana.
 
ESPN Deportes Radio’s coverage of the Copa Santander Libertadores de América and Copa Sudamericana will air via its 44 affiliates in markets such as Los Angeles (1330-AM), Miami (1450-AM), Dallas (1540-AM), Houston (1180-AM), Philadelphia (860-AM), Atlanta (1100-AM), Phoenix (710-AM), San Diego (1550-AM), Albuquerque-Santa Fe (96.3-FM), Washington, DC. (730-FM), Las Vegas (1460-AM), Austin (1260-AM), Tucson (990-AM), Bakersfield (1490-AM), Seattle (1490-AM), among others. Its newest addition includes WNOW-AM 1030 in Charlotte, NC.
