Spanish Broadcasting System Inc., ("SBS") ( SBSA) announced today the promotion of industry veteran Deborah Powell to National Sales Manager for Mega TV. In this new role, Ms. Powell will be responsible for national spot sales for Mega TV in Miami and other markets, while coordinating and overseeing national network representatives.

Gilbert Davila, left his position as VP Global Diversity and Multicultural Market Development for the Walt Disney Co.

Jeffrey Hayzlett, CMO of Kodak, will step down from his post effective May 28 to pursue “personal projects.” He held the top marketing position at Kodak for the last 16 months. Hayzlett will continue to work with Kodak as a consultant through the end of August.

VF Outdoor Americas has named Shaz Kahng president of Lucy Activewear, a multichannel retailer of women's clothing for gym, yoga, running and other active pursuits. She will oversee all aspects of the company, including e-commerce operations and marketing. Kahng most recently served as global director of business development for women's training at Nike.

Brian Lawlor, SVP of the EW Scripps TV division, has been appointed chairman of the NBC affiliates board. He succeeds Michael Fiorile, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Dispatch Broadcast Group. Fiorile becomes chairman emeritus.  

Michaela Apruzzese has been named associate publisher entertainment of The Hollywood Reporter and will oversee entertainment industry advertising across the brand's platforms. She will assume her post in early June and report to publisher Lori Burgess.

Joset B. Wright has been named president of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). Ms. Wright will succeed Harriet R. Michel, who will retire on June 30 after 22 years at the helm of the corporate membership organization. Currently, Ms. Wright is the executive director of Orchard Village, a not-for-profit organization that supports people with disabilities. Prior to that, she was vice president and managing director at The Hollins Group, a minority-owned executive retained search firm in Chicago.

Grupo Gallegos promoted Edgar Hernández to Assosiate Creative Director, based at Long Beach, California. Hernández will manage the Comcast Acquisition count, among others.

Barbara Miller has joined the sales team at V-Me Media Inc. she will be selling television, digital and radio properties (see recent deal between V-Me and GLR deal).

MTV Network will align and build synergies with MTV Networks International’s (MTVNI) US Hispanic & Latin American operations in Miami under the leadership of Sofia Ioannou who will expand her remit as Managing Director of MTVN Latin America & Canada to include US Hispanic. John Mafoutsis, Senior Vice President of Brand Solutions for MTVN Latin America & Canada will also expand his role to include Tr3s, José Tillán will continue to serve a General Manager & Executive Vice President and Louisa Fairborne as Director of Advertising Sales of Tr3s.
