Latin American producer and distributor Telefe is to export three more of its programmes to China as part of an ongoing arrangement with local producer Idea Asia Media.
Idea Asia Media will work on Chinese versions of comedy drama The Man of Your Life and romantic comedies When You Smile and A Year to Remember.
The producer specializes in Chinese adaptations of global television formats and has already picked up The Successful Mr and Mrs Pells and Just in Time from Telefe International, the company’s distribution arm.
Chinese broadcasters are currently dealing with new government regulations that restrict the amount of ‘entertainment’ programs they can air during primetime. Channels have been limited to two primetime entertainment shows a week at a maximum of 90 minutes on any one day between 19.30 and 22.00.
