Rick Marroquin has joined Mediabrands as Managing Director to head its new business unit focusing on the Hispanic media and marketing as well as the emerging multicultural arena.

Marroquin was CMO at Batanga, Inc. and prior to that was director of marketing, U.S. Hispanic at McDonalds.

At Mediabrands, Marroquin will focus on building a Hispanic marketing organization within Mediabrands that delivers across all forms of media, especially across the digital and technology landscape.

"Marketing to ethnic consumers continues to receive less attention than it deserves from the broader marketing industry and there is significant opportunity to deliver true marketing innovation in the U.S. Hispanic Marketplace," Marroquin said in a statement. "The potential is sitting right in front of us.
