Terra has secured the rights to broadcast content from the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver and the 2012 games in London online and via mobile devices.
The decision to award Terra with the rights was predicated on Terra’s successful handling of the 2008 Beijing games, according to sources at the International Olympic Committee.
The Committee was evidently satisfied at the range of offerings the company delivered during the Beijing Games, which included live and on-demand coverage over the Internet, and clips tailored to mobile devices.
Terra is owned by Spain’s Telefonica and is present in 17 Latin American countries with its headquarters in San Paolo Brazil.
