Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc., announced a new business alliance with Verizon Communications Inc. to market its landline telephone, TV and high-speed Internet services, including the company’s ground-breaking fiber optic service, FiOS.

Lopez Negrete will be the full-service marketing and communications agency of record focused on the Hispanic market. The agency will provide a full range of support, including Hispanic advertising, strategic planning, media buying and planning, creative, digital, promotions, event marketing, and public relations.

UPDATE: Global Hue remains the Hispanic marketing agency for Verizon Wireless.

Andrew Speyer joins Wing in the new position of Vice President, Head of Strategy, as announced today by Alain Groenendaal, President and CEO of Wing. Speyer is charged with leading Wing’s overall planning product and joins the agency’s top management in the No. 2 spot behind Groenendaal. He is based in New York. Read the full article here.

The NBA is launching ads on two fronts to promote the 2010-11 season, MediaPost reported. The League is launching a raft of TV spots for the general and Hispanic market, the former under the "Where Amazing Happens" banner, and the latter part of the year-old "ene-be-a" effort. Elements include partnerships with Univision Interactive to tout the new site. The site will include an array of content from blogs by Latino NBA players to video, photos and fan offerings.

Two ads are launching on Spanish-language TV as well, under a "Guarda tu Pasion" ("save your passion") theme. The ads, via San Antonio-based Bromley Communications, begin Oct. 25 on Telemundo, Telefutura, Galavision, Mun2, MTV3, ESPN Deportes, Fox en Espanol and Discovery en Espanol and online at yahoo!sports, fox sports.com, univision.com, and batanga, per the League.

  • Kaching Kaching

Kaching Kaching, Inc., the retail chain of online stores serving consumers on the Internet, announced the launch of marketing and business development efforts specifically targeting the U.S. Hispanic market. The Company will be translating its entire web site, marketing materials and store fronts into Spanish, providing a base in the strategically important Hispanic market. The Company also intends to gear merchandise and product lines specifically towards Hispanic consumers.

  • SCAN Health Plan Arizona 

SCAN Health Plan Arizona announced the launch of a Hispanic outreach program, designed to help Hispanic seniors and their caregivers be better informed about the resources and services available to them through the not-for-profit health plan.

SCAN’s Hispanic outreach initiative will include a combination of prevention and education programs in partnership with various community organizations. The health plan will also launch a culturally relevant marketing campaign in both English and Spanish utilizing Hispanic media outlets.

  • Qwest

Qwest is introducing the 'Domina Tu Mundo' (Rule Your World) Heavy Duty Internet service campaign to the Hispanic market.

Qwest’s Heavy Duty Internet delivers, in selected areas, downstream connection speeds up to 40 Mbps. Heavy Duty Internet also includes Qwest@Ease, a suite of backup, security and support services. In addition, Heavy Duty Internet includes Qwest wireless access with optional wireless modem and Qwest WiFi, powered by AT&T WiFi.

  • Latino Fashion Week

PACO Communications, a Chicago-based multicultural communications agency, has been named Agency of Record for Latino Fashion Week (LFW). PACO will handle all public relations, advertising, social media and promotional efforts for this year's events taking place November 8-15.
