Miguel Ángel Mendiola, Manuel Camacho and Juan Pablo Manazza have founded a new digital agency in Mexico, Viva!. The agency will provide the latin american market with digital solutions and creative.
- Reckitt Benckiser
Reckitt Benckiser named Euro RSCG Worldwide as its global creative agency of record for its Durex and Scholl brands. This news follows RB's recent acquisition of SSL and the addition of these brands to the company's portfolio. Euro RSCG was appointed the sole global creative agency for RB in 2006.
- CuracaoUltimate.com
CuracaoUltimate.com launches, promoting Curacao to High-end Travelers. New Internet site provides a unique view of Curacao Island. The site showcases the Caribbean island, capturing its beauty, heritage, people and vacation opportunities.
Cartenia Productions Inc., launched a new website promoting Curacao in the international marketplace. The site targets senior executives, artists and high-end travelers in North America, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe, inviting them to visit the island and experience its unique heritage. Cartenia partnered with Icon, one of Curacao's trendiest advertising agencies to develop its materials.
- Research in Motion
Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry, parted ways with its agency, Leo Burnett, and placed its advertising account in review.
- Lenovo
Lenovo is reviewing its global advertising account. The business is currently held by Ogilvy & Mather, which won the business in 2005. The technology company is China’s largest personal computer maker and the fourth biggest PC maker behind Hewlett-Packard, Acer and Dell.
Lenovo will launch a tablet PC called "Lepad" in China in early 2011 and will roll out the device in other markets later next year. Its recent advertising activity includes a campaign for its ThinkPad Edge that launched in January and featured print work to build awareness of its notebook range.
- Acer
Acer, the world's second largest maker of personal computers, has added AKQA to its global digital roster following a competitive pitch. The agency will be responsible for promoting Acer’s new platform, Alive.
The global number two in the PC market has worked with different agencies on a global level. It has worked with Leo Burnett on its global advertising account. However, it has also hired agencies in local markets.
- Intel
Intel is reviewing its global creative digital account, believed to be split between US-based agency Venables Bell & Partners and MRM Worldwide. The technology giant has approached a number of undisclosed agencies directly through its North American offices.
The company currently works with San Francisco-based agency Venables Bell & Partners for its global advertising business and MRM Worldwide for its digital activity in the UK and EMEA.
Venables Bell & Partners also handles Intel’s US business-to-business digital account, which is also up for review separately.
The three agencies shortlisted for the Intel B2B digital review are, Interpublic Group of Cos, MRM, Omnicom Group's Tribal DDB, and Publicis Groupe's Razorfish. Venables Bell & Partners did not repitch for the business.
