Dell is to spend "hundreds and hundreds of millions" on an advertising campaign to revamp its image and move away from price as it attempts to chase rivals, Brand Republic reported. The world's number two personal computer manufacturer will launch the campaign to coincide with a range of new laptops and JBL speakers.
The new range of products includes a laptop that converts into a 10-inch tablet computer as well as other smaller tablet devices. Dell's retained creative agencies are WPP shops Y&R and Wunderman. Dell is currently reviewing its US business for consumer small, medium and public businesses.

Julian Porras has been appointed CEO of Omnicom Media Group Latin America. He will be based in the Miami office and begin his new role Nov. 1. Mr. Porras comes to OMD after 14 years at StarcomMediaVest, where he led regional new business, operations and multinational client service for Latin America. He has previously worked with advertisers such as McDonald's, Visa, Coca-Cola, Kellogg's, Kraft, P&G and Samsung. Read more here.

After a pitch, MTV selected Shackleton for a new communication campaign to be aired in Spain. The campaign will focus on branding and the communication of the new MTV channel on Digital Terrestrial Television.
- Hoteles.com
Expedia Inc. partnered with WPP Group to renew Hoteles.com and target turists in Latin America. Marketing and Communication will be at Y&R Brands's companies: Young and Rubicam, Wunderman, Mediacom (part of Grupo WPP).
Arvizu, Comunicación Corporativa (México) and S2Publicom (Brazil) are in charge of the PR effors.
