The X-Change Corporation (OTC: XCHC.PK), a multimedia and e-commerce venture serving the diverse and growing Hispanic markets, announced the appointment of its Board of Directors and Officers.
The newly appointed directors include Haviland Wright, Ph.D. and Ron Vigdor. Fernando Antonio Gomez and Richard T. Steele will continue serving as directors.
Officers of the company include Haviland Wright, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer; Fernando A. Gomez, Executive Vice President and Secretary; and Ron Vigdor, Treasurer.
Broadcast marketing company CRN International is launching a new promotional campaign called "Look What You Can Do(TM)" for some of Hormel's best-known, best-loved products. The campaign, which consists of local radio, television and digital media, will run in 56 markets across the country for a total of four weeks.
Products covered by the promotion include SPAM(R) varieties, DINTY MOORE (R) stews, HORMEL(R) Chili, HORMEL(R) MARY KITCHEN(R) Corned Beef Hash, HORMEL(R) Canned Chicken and HORMEL(R) Bacon Bits. This marks the first time Hormel has marketed such a wide swath of its brands under a single umbrella campaign.
In addition to the on-air buzz, CRN also created local and national broadcast contests, local events programming, websites, coupon page contests and more. "The strategy is to surround people with a range of messages delivered in ways that engage, entertain, inform and excite them–where they live, work, shop, and, of course, cook and eat," says Barry Berman, president of CRN
The campaign will air in two flights, March 1–14 and March 29–April 11, 2010. CRN is collaborating with Hormel agencies on the campaign, including BBDO and NSight Connect.

Bromley Communications announced the recent appointment of Maria Cecilia Pinto as account supervisor for Payless ShoeSource.
IKEA, the home furnishings retailer, announced that it has awarded its integrated communications account to Ogilvy & Mather and *S,C,P,F , Ogilvy's Hispanic agency partner. Anita Santiago is Ikea's hispanic agency.
The other finalists were Berlin Cameron United, Euro RSCG and The Kaplan Thaler Group. All agencies are located in New York.
"The combination of Ogilvy's strategic insights and creativity will allow us to develop break through messaging and establish a more integrated approach to marketing communications," said Leontyne Green, Chief Marketing Officer, IKEA US.
Pile and Company (www.pileandcompany.com), the Boston-based management consulting firm, managed the review process.
- La Curacao
La Curacao, a bilingual Los Angeles-based mega electronics and appliance retailer that caters to Spanish speakers, is expected to open this summer. The opening of the anchor store has been postponed twice, first in the fall of 2008 and then in the summer of 2009, because of the sluggish economy. But the buying power of consumers is improving, said Mauricio Fux, the company's executive vice president."The economy is showing signs of a rebound, and we now are hoping to open this summer," Fux said. "We are proceeding with our plans, and are looking forward to serving the Tucson market."
The retailer sells home appliances, computers, furniture, toys, jewelry, cosmetics, fragrances and ethnic handcrafts. The store will hire more than 200 employees. Signage will be in Spanish and English, and customers can hear mariachi and bands performing Latin music in the store.
