Unicef International Appoints WPN to Handle Global Programme. The agency won the brief following a four-way pitch. The appointment will strengthen the agency's existing relationship with Unicef, which it works for in the UK.

Sony Computer Entertainment is conducting a review of its digital advertising business. The tech giant is holding talks with agencies regarding a range of briefs surrounding the promotion of its consoles and the launch of new games. Meetings have been held with a number of shops over the past few weeks, and a pitch process is expected to take place later in the summer.

  • Tourism Australia – Global

Tourism Australia has appointed OMD for its global media services account, covering media planning and buying, search marketing and optimisation, and social media marketing. The full account is worth US$190m, according to media reports. Andrew McEvoy, managing director, Tourism Australia, said OMD will take over from Carat after the expiry of its existing contract.

The Football Association (FA) is looking to use a new sponsorship deal with Budweiser to promote the FA Cup globally, taking on internationally popular competitions such as the Premier League and the Champions League.

  • McCann Mia – Latin America

    Luca Linder, President of McCann Worldgroup Latin America has announced McCann Mia will be opening a new branch in Latin America. Chavo Démilio will be in charge of the creative department and will report to Martin Ortells, General Manager at McCann Mia.

  • DG / Mediamind – Global
    DG, provider of digital media services to the advertising, entertainment and broadcast industries, and MediaMind Technologies Inc., a global provider of integrated digital advertising solutions, announced a definitive agreement under which DG will acquire MediaMind in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition creates one of the premier global online and television advertising technology companies.
