    Pepsi and Twitter have teamed up to stream music concerts and offer free song downloads on the soft drink brand's Twitter page. 'Live Now for Music' is part of Pepsi's new global brand campaign around music. The company is planning a series of pop-up concerts beginning this month.

  • Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games – Global
    The Tokyo 2020 bid committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games has appointed Weber Shandwick as its global agency. The agency appointment comes after Weber Shandwick supported Tokyo’s applicant city phase, handling strategy and PR.  Weber Shandwick has previously worked on the Tokyo 2016 Olympic Bid campaign.

  • Nike – Global
    Nike has announced plans to sell Umbro and leather goods retailer Cole Haan. Nike bought Umbro in October 2007 for £285m when it wanted to strengthen its presence in the football market and compete with other football brands such as adidas and Puma.

  • BPP Communications – Global
    Chime Communications has agreed to sell a section of its PR businesses to Lord Bell, the holding company name will be BPP Communications. BPP Communications will be made up of Bell Pottinger Public Relations, Pelham Bell Pottinger (60%), Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, Bell Pottinger Sans Frontières and Bell Pottinger Middle East.

    In addition, BPP Communications will acquire the 40% stake in Pelham Bell Pottinger held by senior management. The new company will be owned by Lord Bell, David Beck, Jeremy Deedes, James Henderson, John Leece, Tom Mollo, David Wilson and certain other executives involved in the management of the Bell Pottinger businesses.
