After a swift review, Novamex, a maker of Mexican soft drinks, has awarded Omnicom Group's GSD&M national creative and media duties for its Jarritos brand of beverages.
  • Maura Panzera – Sirius XM

Mauro Panzera, the former senior director of multicultural marketing at Comcast, has joined Sirius XM as Vice President of Hispanic Marketing, a newly created position. Prior to joining Sirius XM, Panzera was Comcast’s senior director of multicultural marketing, a position he had held since 2002. That position was eliminated in 2009 and he had been consulting independently since then.  

  • Groupacho and Latino-Centric Daily

Groupacho the newest innovator in the burgeoning daily deals market, launched its website last week offering discounts on L.A.’s hottest restaurants, clubs, retail shops, and events. Groupacho will focus on deals that reflect the lifestyle of Latino families in Los Angeles. In its debut week, Groupacho has partnered with la Fonda Restaurant and EZ Lube to showcase the quality and diversity of its deals.

Beatriz Perez currently Chief Marketing Officer for Coca-Cola North America, will become the Company’s Chief Sustainability Officer, effective July 1. In this new role, Perez will integrate Coca-Cola’s well-established system sustainability initiatives in the areas of water, climate protection, packaging and recycling, and community through a new global Office of Sustainability, reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Alex Cummings.

AHRQ Conoce las Preguntas, (Know the Questions) a new, multimedia Spanish-language campaign announced today by HHS' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Ad Council, encourages Hispanics to get more involved in their health care and to talk with their doctors about their medical concerns.

The national public service advertising campaign, which features television, radio, print and Web ads, offers tips to help Hispanics prepare for medical appointments by thinking.

Starz Entertainment is improving ENCORE, a premium network with more than 33 million subscribers, with changes across its family of channels.  Expected to launch on August 1, 2011, the new ENCORE offerings will fortify the value proposition of the ENCORE brand and its companion multiplex channels for existing subscribers and enhance the ability of Starz Entertainment's multichannel affiliates to attract new ones.

Newman/Haas Racing – Telemundo
Telemundo partnered with Newman/Haas Racing and sponsored  the No. 2 car in last weekend’s Indy 500 race. Their driver, Oriol Servia, qualified in the front row for last Sunday’s marquee IndyCar event.
