Verena Sisa has been named the new VP, Chief Strategy Officer at Conill/Saatchi & Saatchi. Ms. Sisa previously was the Director of Planning & Research at Grupo Gallegos.

  • CitiFinancial

GlobalHue announced its account win as creative agency for the rebranding of CitiFinancial to OneMain Financial. GlobalHue will be charged with creating the overall go-to-market strategy and developing the launch campaign for the OneMain Financial brand across all consumer segments. GlobalHue will not be responsible for media planning and buying, handled by MEC.

The rebranding campaign will launch in the summer of 2011 and will include broadcast, print and digital elements.

  • Toyota

Telemundo announced that the network has partnered with Toyota on a category exclusive marketing initiative for the launch of its newest original primetime novela, Los Herederos del Monte (The Monte Heirs). The initiative centers on four Toyota models (Tundra, Venza, Rav4 and Yaris).

  • T-Mobile

T-Mobile USA partnered with Telemundo on a category-exclusive deal to provide the latest smartphones to be organically integrated into the novela, including the T-Mobile myTouch 4G, the HTC HD2 and the Motorola Cliq XT.

T-Mobile also has kicked off a six-week advertising campaign in Hispanic Markets to promote its International Talk & Text service. Users will have the ability to call landline numbers in 56 countries using their domestic minutes, not roaming charges.

  • Home Depot

The Home Depot has shifted the bulk of its media assignment from Interpublic Group's Initiative to Aegis Group's Carat after a review. Media buying and planning was handled by Initiative, while Hispanic creative duties are managed by Richards Group.

  • General Motors

General Motors Corp. appointed Chris Perry as the vice president, US marketing replacing Joel Ewanick, effective February 1. Perry will be responsible for improving the position of the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands and consumer consideration of GM vehicles in the US, the company noted.

  • Primm Valley Casinos

Primm Valley casinos are betting on Hispanics, the casino group pursues own niche by engaging Spanish speakers of Southern California. Buffalo Bill’s is welcoming Hispanics with its “Serie de Conciertos Latinos", a schedule featuring such Mexican celebrities as Los Tigres del Norte and Jenni Rivera. It hosts boxing events featuring little-known fighters with a local following among California Hispanics who are already casino customers. And it has incorporated bilingual dealers that speak Spanish and English with customers at the tables.

  • HIMSS

The Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society announced it has launched the HIMSS Latino Initiative, a new program focused on using health information technology to improve care for the nation's Latinos.

The initiative will be led by a work group chaired by Luis Belen, founder, president and CEO of Paramus, N.J.-based Medic Success, a health IT software company, and Danny Vargas, president of VARCom Solutions, a marketing and public relations company based in Herndon, Va.

The Latino Initiative's first event, which will take place in February at the HIMSS annual conference in Orlando, will feature panel discussions on topics such as healthcare disparities among populations and barriers to health IT adoption.
