The company currently operating under the name Publicitas Publimedia is merging with web2com, another PubliGroupecompany, the specialist in digital marketing. This pooling of expertise will lead to more effective exploitation of synergies within the individual group companies, particularly in the areas of print and online, whereby the existing services of Publimedia and web2com will continue to be offered. Along with comprehensive consulting expertise, the new Publimedia bundles various advisory services within a newly developed platform. The new Head of Publimedia is Andreas Gedenk. At the beginning of May 2011, the new Publimedia will take up operations with 35 employees.

Publimedia, the key account unit of Publicitas for companies advertising at the national and supra-regional level and their advertising and media agencies, will position itself in the market with four different service categories. Within Publimedia, specialists in the print segment will now be working on the same team alongside online specialists.

In specific terms, the following services will be offered for customers, with the overall range of
PubliGroupe services being more fully taken into account:

* Media Services: information, planning, booking and reporting services
* Marketing Services: analysis, monitoring and evaluation of customer touch points
* Special Services: digital conception and production
* Network Services with access to all services offered within the group: from customer attraction, interaction and acquisition to transaction

Hans-Peter Rohner, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PubliGroupe: “As advertising and communications markets become more and more complex, choosing the right marketing strategy presents clients with an ongoing optimisation challenge for which they rely on the support of internal and external specialists and agencies. Against this background, we have decided to consolidate
Publimedia with web2com in order to assist advertisers, publishers and other media providers in an even more targeted, yet also more comprehensive fashion.”

The head of the new merged business unit is Andreas Gedenk (49), who formerly managed the media agency ZenithOptimedia in Zurich. Ueli Weber, former Managing Director of web2com, will take on the function of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and serve as Deputy CEO of Publimedia. Moreno Cavaliere, long-time member of the Publimedia management and CEO ad interim since March 2009, will continue to work within the management of Media Sales as Head of National Sales (Publicitas, Publicitas Publimag, Publicitas Publiconnect, Publicitas Swiss Press and Publicitas Mosse) and act as the CEO of Publicitas Cinecom. In addition, he will make his expertise available to the new Publimedia. The consolidation of the two companies Publimedia and web2com is being effected without any staff reductions.

At the beginning of May 2011, Publimedia will take up operations with 35 employees and successively add to its existing range of services, which will continue to be offered in the future. Among others, these include an innovative “AdMarket”, an interactive marketplace for advertising space with offline and online offerings and an interface between supply (publishers and other platforms) and demand (advertisers), which will be launched in Fall 2011 as a central service of Publimedia.
