Media giant Prisa has announced the creation of Prisa Digital Americas, a division specifically targeting Latin America and the Hispanic market in the United States, with which it seeks to boost the volume of its operations in the region.

Prisa's digital operations in the Americas have more than 24 million unique users per month, Spain's leading media conglomerate said in a communique released in Miami.

Prisa's Latin American market has acquired a "growing importance" for the future of the company, with a 14.7 percent increase in revenues from that region, CEO Juan Luis Cebrian said recently.

Prisa Digital is led by Kamal Bherwani as executive director and Paul Westhorpe as general director of sales and strategy.

The main office of Prisa Digital Americas has been established in Miami and is headed by Alvaro Palacios, vice president in charge of implementing digital strategies in Latin America and the United States. Marilyn Aldir will be in charge of the panregional sales as VP; Cristian Cravello is the new Sales Manager, Jorge Mercado, VP of Communication and Marketing and José Luis Ortega is the new Business Director.
