Mobile social entertainment site MocoSpace, which has a sizable Hispanic audience, announced that it has secured $3.5 million in a round of funding from Softbank Capital, bringing the mobile startup to a total of $10 million, according to Vator TV News. It said that it will use the funds to expand its mobile browser-based social gaming platform.
» Technology website Techcrunch has been sold to AOL, in a new sign of how the online media company is betting on content. As Paidcontent reports, TechCrunch will be part of the AOL Technology Network, which falls under David Eun as president of AOL Media and Studios, but will remain editorially independent. The company will use the funds to expand its mobile browser-based social gaming platform. Social gaming is a very hot category.
