Responding to the elevated profile of Latino voters, Impremedia
launched a “Political Marketing Solution” for the ’08 presidential
election, that will undoubtedly continue to grow in future elections.
The company is touting some facts about the importance
of the Latino vote to draw in more political advertising.
These include:
•Latino voter registration has grown 50% in the last 10 years
•Latinos comprise 9% of eligible voters nationwide (there are
18.2 million eligible Latino voters)
•“New American” Spanish-dominant Latino voters participate at higher
rates than native born English-dominant Latinos
•Spanish is their language of choice for political news and information
Impremedia, which launched the election coverage website Votolatino
earlier this year, also points to the fact that the ten states with the largest
Hispanic populations represent 82% of the 270 electoral votes needed to
win the election.
