•    Voodoovox the NYC based in-call media platform and Hispanic Network is dismissing its advertising sales team, industry sources tell Portada. Voodoovox is financed by private equity investors including Japan's softbank Group. 

•    NPR has named Edward Schumacher-Matos educator and columnist, to the position of Ombudsman. He begins a three-year term on June 1, 2011. It is a familiar role for Schumacher-Matos who has been the Ombudsman for the Miami Herald since 2007.  From 2003 to 2007 Schumacher, a career award-winning journalist, founded and  led Hispanic newspaper chain Rumbo, one of the most ambitious newspaper roll outs in the history of Hispanic print.

•    Alcance Media, a  San Francisco based online ad-network targeting the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets , recently appointed Pablo Rivera to manage  its Operations team. In addition, it added  Fernando Alvarez and Dane Lutes-Koths to its U.S Hispanic business development team in San Francisco.

•    Roberto Trigos  was named Research Director of America CV Network for the markets of Puerto Rico, Miami y New York (April 13).

•    Javier Reyes was named Executive Advisor of Medina Media Consulting. Before that Javier Reyes worked as Production Director of CNN+.

•    Prisa Digital bolstered its U.S. Hispanic and Latin American team with new additions in  its  executive team based in Miami. Marilyn Aldir, formerly at ESPN,  was named Associate Vice-President, US Sales; Jorge Mercado, until recently at Terra,  as Associate Vice-President, Marketing and Communications-Americas; Jose Luis Ortega as Director of Business Development; Martin Noe as Director of Sales for Latin America and Cristian Cravello, Sales Development Director.

•    Michael Scanlon has been named General Manager of KNSO Telemundo Fresno.

•    Howard, Merell & Partners has promoted Elizabeth Romero. Merell & Partners is a strategic branding and advertising agency and provides Hispanic marketing support for Georgia-Pacific Professional.

•    EPMG hired Rick Esquivel and Scott Adams to be part of EPMG’s sales team. Combined, Esquivel and Adams bring in more than 25 years of experience in sales and advertising. “We are aiming to increase 20 percent in sales revenue by going after key retail and package goods brands as part of our expansion plan,” said Trevor Hansen, CEO of EPMG. Prior to joining EPMG, Esquivel and Adams were the National Account Executive and Manager of
Retail Accounts respectively at ImpreMedia, Los Angeles. At EPMG, Esquivel will be responsible for packaged goods accounts and Adams will be handling retail accounts.
