Comcast Corporation announced the appointment of Maria G. Arias as executive director of diversity and inclusion which is a newly created role. According to company sources Arias will direct, manage, and organize Comcast’s diversity program strategy and will be responsible for recruitment and career development, suppliers, programming, and community investment. She will be working closely with the Comcast Internal Diversity Council and the newly created Comcast/NBCUniversal Joint External Diversity Advisory Council for coordinating the execution of diversity and inclusion initiatives that will benefit the entire company.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Chiqui Cartagena as VP, Corporate Marketing. Cartagena will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate marketing strategies, positioning the company’s broad portfolio of brands and creating proprietary consumer research tools and ethnographies. She will be based in New York and will report to Ruth Gaviria, senior vice president, Corporate Marketing.

Univision appointed Eric W. Conrad VP of Programming for Univision Deportes. In this role, he'll oversee sports programming, acquisitions and content development operations across all of Univision’s platforms. Eric will be based in New York and will report to Alexander “Sandy” Brown, President of Sports, Univision Communications Inc.

Rick Marroquín has joined CAA Creative Artists Agency (CAA), an entertainment and sports agency headquartered in Los Angeles. Marroquin will work alongside Christy Haubegger to provide insight on multicultural audiences and initiatives, as well as develop opportunities for clients.

Michael Burch has joined Estrella TV, becoming senior vice president of sales. Burch was previously vice president of Southwest region network sales at Univision.

Julio Cisneros has been hired as news director of KTAZ- 39, Telemundo's O&O in Phoenix. He replaces Juan Villa, who left the station in January to become News Director at Univision's KTVW-33.

Julio will be reporting directly to GM Araceli de León. His first day is May 2nd.

José Rios, currently VP/News Director of KTTV-11 in Los Angeles, has been named VP of Digital News Applications at parent Fox Television Stations (FTS). He starts the new job on June 1. He'll report directly to CEO Jack Abernethy.

Gustavo Alvarez is the new regional account director for TNS in Miami. Alvarez was  previously CEO of Kitelab USA, a research agency he co-founded, and before that had regional roles focusing on Latin America with Synovate, Ipsos, Research International and NFO. 


SCPF, a creative advertising agency, has hired Philip Bonnery as Executive Creative Director. Based in the agency's Miami office, Bonnery brings with him 15 years of creative experience at top agencies such as Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Modernista!, Wieden + Kennedy, and Crispin Porter + Bogusky, among others. Bonnery is co-ECD with Alberto Jaen who has been with the agency since last June.
