Publicitas & Charney Palacios  announced that Lucio Grimaldi is the new leader of the Publicitas unit in Miami, his new function will include sales and media relations efforts for the Latin American region. He will report directly to Howard Moore, managing director, Publicitas North America.  Amelie Ferro, CEO, Publicitas Charney/Palacios, has decided to pursue other professional interests. Publicitas thanks her for her dedicated leadership over the past seven years.   

Cesar Martinez is the new Multicultural VP at Live Nation. Martinez was hired two month ago by LiveNation. He will be developing properties targeting the Latin space under the LiveNation Latino brand.  The publicly quoted company is one of the world’s leading live entertainment and eCommerce companies and is comprised by:  Ticketmaster.com, Live Nation Concerts, Front Line Management Group and Live Nation Network. Prior to LiveNation Martinez worked at ImpreMedia, ESPN Deportes and Terra.

Juan Pablo Suarez was recently hired as Business Development Manager at US Media Consulting in Miami. Suarez tells Portada that he will be leading US Media Consulting’s development of  outsourcing services offered to media partners. These services can include back-office work and ad-sales related activities. Previously Suarez worked as Business Development Director at Mediabrands.

Korn/Ferry International appointed Victor Arias as the firm’s Senior Client Partner to lead the Firm’s enhanced Diversity Inclusion initiatives. These initiatives are focused on continuing to support and evolve the firm’s strong commitment to both for its clients and its own workforce.  Mr. Arias has led several transformational diversity-focused programs at leading global organizations.

Veteran newsman Michael A. Anastasi will join the Los Angeles News Group as vice president and executive editor, effective Aug. 13, the news group announced. Anastasi, 46, will oversee all aspects of news gathering and presentation for LANG’s network of nine daily newspapers, five weekly publications and digital news media content.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mike Leary was named the new editor of the San Antonio Express-News. Leary, who starts at the Express-News on August 6, replaces Robert Rivard, who resigned from the paper in September.

Joe Jaime was named National Sales Manager for WFLD and WPWR, Chicago Radio and Media reports. Most recently, Jaime served as National Sales Manager at KXTX Telemundo in Dallas.

Freddy Oldenburg was appointed News Director of KSTS-48.

ESPN announced that Monica Diaz is joining ESPN Inc. as their Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Work Life. Diaz will be responsible for advancing ESPN’s global diversity and inclusion philosophy and for leveraging its programs to build and promote ESPN as an employer of choice. She will be based at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, CT and report to Paul Richardson, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, ESPN. Diaz joins ESPN from the Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA where she led the development and execution of the company’s global diversity and inclusion strategy.

Solangelee Molina was named Senior Director of Video Programming for Univision, MediaMoves reports.

Former Disney Channels Worldwide president Carolina Lightcap is joining Discovery, as the head of content for Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic (DLA/USH), and GM for the Southern Cone.Lightcap will head all areas within DLA/USH related to content, which include programming and marketing. In her role as GM for the Southern Cone, Lightcap will be responsible for overseeing Discovery’s business in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay. She will be based out of Buenos Aires.

San Antonio based Advertising Agency Bromley announced the addition of several executives. Anel Hooper, Associate Media Director, comes from Lopez-Negrete in Houston  where she was Associate Director of Channel Strategy, Media; Alejandro  Perez-Segnini, Senior Art Director, was Art Director at MarketVision in San Antonio; David Espadas, Senior Copywriter, was Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather in Mexico City; Oscar Peña, Digital Account Executive, was Creative Director at Wacker Media in San Antonio; Ana Gamez, Account Coordinator, is a recent Master of Arts graduate from the University of  Texas at Austin; Astin Irving, Assistant Account Planner, was a Junior Planner at VRTC Communication in Houston; and Rosalynn Warren, Receptionist, continues her work with non-profit and cultural organizations in San Antonio as a youth art educator.
