Publicis had taken a 70% stake in the Brazilian business DPZ with the option of taking total control in the next two to three years.  The agency would remain under the leadership of its three founders Roberto Duailibi, Francesc Petit and José Zaragoza, and the management of current chief executive Flavio Conti.

Seven of the most important Mexican publishing firms have announced a new organization: Asociación Mexicana de Editores de Revistas, A.C. (AMER). – Grupo Expansión, Notmusa, Grupo Medios, Impresiones Aéreas (IASA), Televisa, Condé Nast and Armonía – José Carlos Mier, Founder, will be in charge of the interim General Direction. Manuel Rivera Raba (current CEO at Grupo Expansión) is the new Board President at AMER and Manuel Yañez, General Director.

Saulo Passos is the new Communications Director at Nokia for Latin America. Passos will be in charge of the planning and strategies of communication, media relations and internal communication. He will in charge of all Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, The Caribbean and also Brazil.

HP announced the appointment of Stephen DeWitt as senior vice president and general manager of its webOS global business unit. He will be responsible for all aspects of the webOS business, including engineering, research and development, sales, marketing and go-to-market support. He will lead the creation of a global developer and independent software vendor programme to deliver new consumer and business applications.

HP also announced that Jon Rubinstein, the former Palm CEO, will become senior VP for product innovation at the Personal Systems Group at HP.

Omar Khan, the CTO and chief product officer at Samsung Mobile, is leaving the company to head up Citigroup's mobile banking services. Khan joined Samsung in 2008 after previously working in the top management at Motorola. He helped launch the company's first smartphones and Android device range.

Iron Mountain, the Argentinian information administration service provider, has named Peter Meierhold President for Latin America. He will be responsible for the company´s leadership in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru.
