Manuel García-Durán has stepped down as chairman & CEO of Mio.TV, the New York-based Hispanic-targeted, bilingual online TV network he launched in late 2007. García-Durán, a former Telefónica executive, is no longer running the day-to-day operations of the Latino-targeted portal, though he "is still a major shareholder, and working on acquiring strategic deals for [the] company," says Mio.TV's co-founder and executive VP Moses Frenck. The company has not yet named a new CEO, according to Multichannel News.

Liliana Gil is the new VP of Marketing Strategy and Managing Partner of Acento Group. She previously worked as the Director of Worldwide Marketing Services at Johnson & Johnson. As a managing partner of Acento Group, Liliana has recently taken a senior management role to lead the creation of a conglomerate known as the XL Alliance. This entity aggregates senior experts providing mastery-services in shopper marketing, healthcare and digital/ new media targeting the Multicultural Consumer. In addition, the Latin GRAMMYs Recording Academy announced the outsourced appointment of Liliana Gil – VP of Marketing Strategy and Managing Partner of Acento Group, as Executive Marketing Strategist and Advisor to the Latin Recording Academy and the Latin Grammy Awards. As the official Marketing Strategy and Brand Partnerships agency, Liliana and her team will focus on facilitating the development of integrated marketing programs, new business development and digital strategy in support of the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMYs and its ancillary events in the U.S and Latin-America.

Edward Romero has been appointed general manager of KVDA Telemundo San Antonio, a station operated by ZGS Communications. The appointment follows the strengthening of a strategic alliance between Telemundo Network and ZGS to operate several Spanish-language TV stations in Boston, El Paso, Fresno, Ft. Myers-Naples, Hartford, Orlando, Philadelphia, Providence, San Antonio, Springfield, MA, Tampa, and Washington, DC.

Luis Cabrera, is the new country manager Mexico for digital advertising agency Latin3.

Listen Up Español (LUE), the U.S. Hispanic call center specializing in Direct Response Television (DRTV) campaigns, announced that Randall Anderson is the company's new Vice President of Sales & New Business Development. Indoor Direct, Inc., announced that Charlie Rutman has joined its board of directors. Rutman has been a leading media planning and buying executive for more than 30 years.

ICON International, appointed Ed Gentner, former senior vice president and group client director at MediaVest to senior vice president, director of national broadcast. In addition to overseeing the National Broadcast Group, Ed will manage some of ICON's top accounts and further develop trade opportunities with national media properties.

MWW Group announced that Claire Koeneman has been named general manager of the agency's Chicago office. In her new role, Koeneman will oversee MWW Group's Investor Relations, Financial Communications, Public Affairs and Public Relations operations throughout the Midwest region. The Online Publishers Association (OPA) announced that Perianne Grignon has joined as senior vice president of marketing for the organization.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., named Janet Balis as EVP of Media Sales and Marketing. In this position, she will oversee Publishing, Broadcast and Digital Advertising Sales and Marketing. She will report to MSLO Executive Chairman Charles Koppelman.
