Condé Nast and El País have created a joint venture, Ediciones Conelpa, which is 50% owned by each company to launch a new weekly magazine that will be distributed together with El País. The managing editor is Empar Prieto, with over 18 years’ experience in newspapers. Elena Ferreras, until now director of advertising for Glamour, is to head advertising. Javier Pascual del Olmo, president of Conde Nast Spain, Mexico and Latin America, will be president of the new company and Maria Frias, until now strategy manager at El País, will be managing director.
Jorge Flo has been named Prisa Radio’s director of Music for America. With this appointment a boost is given to the development of music products, both on digital and analog platforms, in the Americas
Felipe de Lucas has been named General Director at Prisa Brand Solutions, the commercial unit of Prisa. De Lucas will replace Bill Derreger, who has been directing Prisa Brand Solutions since its foundation.
Sony has announced the appointment of Jorge Gonzalez as President for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Gonzalez has more than 20 years working for the company.
