Cynthia Ashworth, a former Oxygen Network and Madison Avenue veteran, has joined Univision Communications as SVP Agency Development and Ad Sales Marketing, Portada has learned. Ashworth, who spent the past two years developing marketing strategies for Dunkin’ Donuts, will be based in New York City and reports to Lisa McCarthy, Univision’s EVP Client Development Group.

Univision also announced the appointment of Maelia Macin to the position of executive vice president of Network Sales for Univision Networks. Macin will oversee all advertising sales and marketing operations for the Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisión networks. Based in New York, she will report directly to David Lawenda, president of Advertising Sales and Marketing, Univision Communications Inc.

Univision tapped TV vet German Perez-Nahim, the former general manager of Venezuelan web Televen, as senior VP and operating manager of its sister web TeleFutura. Perez-Nahim replaces Bert Medina who moves on to become senior advisor of special projects for Univision Studios. Both report to Luis Fernandez, prexy of Univision Entertainment and Univision Studios.

Peter Lazarus has been appointed EVP, Sales Strategy – New Networks. In this position, he will continue to be based in New York and report to Lawenda, and work closely with the Univision Networks and the Company’s Distribution Sales & Marketing teams. 

Alberto Mier y Terán has been named vice president/general manager for the Company’s flagship stations in Los Angeles. He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Peter Walker, president, Univision Local Media.

Orci Advertising announced the promotion of Andrew Orci to President and CEO. Co-founders Hector and Norma Orci will continue in their roles as Chairman and Vice-Chair, respectively.

Terra USA announced the appointment of Liz Sarachek Blacker as the Chief Revenue Officer/VP Sales. As Chief Revenue Officer, Blacker will oversee and manage all sales and business revenue opportunities across multiple platforms for the US and clients extending into Latam.

Zocalo, the marketing agency, announced that Hugo Perez has joined the organization as vice president and account director of Hispanic marketing. In this role, Perez leads Zocalo Group’s efforts to create and execute word-of-mouth and social media programs specifically focused on engaging the United States’ rapidly growing Hispanic market.
