You are reading it in Portada first, Arturo Duran, CEO of Impremedia Digital and one of the top contenders for the CEO position left vacant by John Paton in January, is no longer working at Impremedia. A Portada reporter tried to contact him this afternoon via e-mail, and got the following message back: “Arturo Duran is no longer with impreMedia”.
Arturo Duran, was appointed in August 2007 by John Paton with the mandate to build Impremedia Digital, an online network for Hispanics which offers multi-platform advertising solutions at the national and local levels.
Sources tell Portada that Impremedia is having an internal communication session with its staff this afternoon, and that it is very likely that Monica Lozano, SVP and CEO of La Opinion, will be appointed as the new CEO.
After Paton resigned last January, both Arturo Duran and Monica Lozano where seen by insiders as the main contenders for the new CEO position. The board also considered to hire an executive from outside the company.
Mike Wortsman, former head of Univision Television Group, served as interim CEO of impreMedia while the search for the new CEO was conducted.
