Batanga plans to launch a $3-4 million consumer marketing campaign to drive users to its site. According to founder and CEO Troy McConnell, the campaign will be done entirely online.
This year, Batanga launched new features that enable users to have more control over how they use Batanga tools. Batanga users can now take music and tools with them to other sites. Batanga also launched “My Radio” which gives users the editorial tools to create their own radio stations. Both of these features are extremely popular with young latinos.
Troy McConnell says teen users have increased 10%-15% percent over the past year. Batanga also has plans to develop its own social networking site in the near future. Batanga.com has approximately 4 million unique users a month.
