Michael Villalobos, until recently at Virool, is the new Vice President of Sales with a focus on agency partnerships at AmpLive, an audience acquisition platform for live video. Since February 2015, AmpLive has run hundreds of campaigns for live content marketers from every industry with strong delivery in North America, UK and Latin America.
Michael Epstein has been promoted to president of Carat USA, and will also continue in his role as chief client officer. Esptein will replace former US Carat Doug Ray. Espstein joined Carat in 2014 after serving as president of strategic resource and client services at Mindshare.
New York Media has appointed Pamela Wasserstein as CEO, effective May 2. She will replace Anup Bagaria. New York Media is the publisher of New York magazine and the digital propertiesnymag.com, Vulture, the Cut, Daily Intelligencer, Grub Street and Science of Us.Pamela Wasserstein has served as New York’s co-chairwoman and head of strategy since 2014. She has also served as a trustee of the Wasserstein family entity that owns New York.Wasserstein will work directly with editor-in-chief Adam Moss and publisher Larry Burstein.Prior to joining New York Media full time, Wasserstein worked at Tribeca Enterprises.
Facebook has laid off about 40 people. The laid-off staff were part of the account-management and sales teams within the company’s “publisher ad-tech group,” a recently formed division.
Among that staff is LiveRail former CEO Mark Trefgarne, whohad become Facebook’s director of product management for its ad-tech group in the August following LiveRail acquisition.
Greg Andersen is no longer part of Omnicom’s RAPP, after nearly three years with the agency. Andersen was U.S president of the agency since last June. Prior to RAPP, he served as CEO of BBH New York.
R/GA New York has hired Tom Morton as SVP of strategy promoting Jess Greenwood to vice president, activation strategy. Morton and Greenwood will be tasked with inspiring campaign development and defining brand strategy while reporting to R/GA global Chief Strategy Officer Barry Wacksman.
Morton joins R/GA from Co:Collective, where he was director of strategy for the past two years.
Greenwood joined R/GA as director of business strategy in February of 2012, following a little over two years as director, Contagious Insider at Contagious Communications.
Mobile customer engagement software company Apptentive has hired Marisa Nolan as vice president of sales and Vageesh Kumar as director of product management.
