Michael_GuarigliaTelemundo Media announced the appointment of Michael Guariglia to Vice President, Network Sales. A veteran sales leader, Guariglia will be responsible for overseeing the advertising sales function for Telemundo Network for the Northeast territory.He will work with top clients to develop integrated packages and programs to suit their needs and serve as the senior point of contact for clients and agencies in his territory.He will also play an integral role in designing strategy and will be responsible for overseeing the regional sales team, as well as evaluating the performance of advertising sales programs.
Guariglia joins Telemundo from Univision Communications Inc., where he served as an Account Executive. Prior to that, Guariglia was Vice President, Client Development, Univision Communications Inc. He was alsoVice President, Advertising Sales at The WB/CW TV Network and Account Executive at the WB Network. Earlier in his career, Guariglia worked as a Director, Advertising Sales for Studio USA. He holds a B.A. in Communications from State University at Genesco in Genesco, NY.He will report to Mike Alvarez, Senior Vice President, Ad Sales Telemundo Network and will be based in New York City.

Melvin Wilson was recently named Head of Strategy at IPG’s Media Lab. Wilson’s prior position was Director of Digital Innovation at New York based  D’ expósito & Partners.

juan foreroJuan Forero has been appointed South America bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal. He will oversee about a dozen reporters and support staff for the paper from across Spanish-speaking South America, and will based in Bogotá, Colombia. Forero was previously South America correspondent for The Washington Post.

dfDavid Flynn, Jr. has been named Tippit & Moo new General Manager. Flynn, will lead Tippit & Moo’s team to further expand the agency’s growing list of clientele and services and to deepen its strategic prowess.Flynn has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Tippit & Moo, Flynn was Marketing Director at Novamex. He also founded and built the Hispanic media buying company, Amistad Media Group. His career, includes the achievement of successfully taking an established Hispanic icon, Jarritos, and crossing it over into the general market, as well as pioneering a methodology for measuring communication to the market in a multi-channel environment at Amistad Media Group. Flynn also served as VP/Media Director at GSD&M in Austin, Texas and has created and executed digital, social, direct and experiential media strategies for clients, including The US Army, JC Penney, Domino’s Pizza, Jarritos, and Chili’s Grill and Bar, just to name a few.David Flynn holds a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Cardenas Marketing Network,announced the hiring of Joshua Eagle Patrón as the agency’s new Executive Creative Director. Patrón, a former creative director at Hispanic advertising agency, Lopez Negrete Communications, and Al Punto advertising, is an experienced creative director with a long record in Hispanic and mainstream marketing. Patrón will work to elevate CMN’s creative services and to broaden and expand the firm’s integrated marketing offerings.Patrón specialties include Creative Development, Concepts, Integrated Marketing, Direct Marketing, Promotions, Digital, Art direction, Production and Editing.While at Lopez Negrete, Joshua’s responsibilities included creating and implementing multi-channel campaigns for Verizon, Bank of America, Starbucks, Dr Pepper and Seven Up.Prior to that, Joshua compiled a remarkable business development streak at Al Punto advertising, where he led a team that presented and won nine out of nine business pitches for the agency. Clients included Kia Motors America, Time Warner, Daisy Brands, Robbins Brothers, Universal Studios, Farmer John, Sempra Energy, and OC Fair.Patron’s honors and awards include Regional, National and International awards such as Addy’s, NY Festivals, One show’s, Caracol de Plata and Ogilvy awards. He holds a BAFA degree in Art from the University of Southern California.
