Telecom International has announced that Brazil CEO Luca Luciani will oversee the company’s Latin American operations as chief operating officer. Luciani will report to Bernabe.

Pablo Alvarez, director of OMG Digital Latin America has left Omnicon Media Group.

Telefonica USA, the U.S. unit of Spain’s Telefonica telecommunications group, named Marcelo Caputo as its chief executive, based in Miami, He succeeds Diana Sanchez – CEO, Telefonica USA, Inc. He also will run the Americas’ arm of the Telefónica Multinational Solutions area, which provides global services to multinational companies in the United States and Latin America. Caputo joined the Telefonica Group in 1993. He held key sales positions in Telefonica’s enterprise customer division and then, helped start and led the global customers division in Latin America for five years. For the past three years, he led the company’s enterprise customers division in Mexico.

Wolf F. Kupatt has been named corporate vice president and president of Baxter Latin America and Canada, based in Fort Lauderdale. His area of responsibility spans operations in 17 countries, more than 7,200 employees, seven manufacturing facilities, and a product portfolio representing all of Baxter’s medical products and bio-science business units. Kupatt assumed the position in October. Before that, he was general manager of Baxter’s German operations, the health care company announced.

ConAgra Foods named Guillermo Del Solar as marketing manager for the Caribbean, based in Miami. His priority is to develop and implement strategies to help boost sales and marketing of the company’s food products in the Caribbean area.

Andrea Lo Vetere is the new Art Director in Contrapunto Barcelona. Lo Vetere will be working in the art team directed by Carlos de Javier. Lo Vetere has previously worked for On&On with clients like Bacardi, Martini, Bombay, Canterbury, Nestlé and Olympus. She also has worked for Adding Omnicom and Cline Davis Mann with the Bayer, GSK, Novartis, Lundbeck and Leti accounts.

MPG Media Contacts is restructuring its team. Simon Bielby, previously client planning director at Mindshare, and Eva Powell, previously strategy director at Vizeum, have been hired as new strategy directors. They will report to Martyn Stokes, who has been promoted to head of communications strategy. The communications strategy team will focus on insight-driven creative communications planning across all channels. Stokes will also be supported by David Graham, who recently joined from Starcom Mediavest as head of digital strategy.

The commercial strategy team, which covers insight, effectiveness, analytics and data planning, will be headed by Dan Hagen, managing partner, commercial strategy. Kate Cox, head of creative communications at MPG, has been promoted to a newly created role within the business as head of integration.

South African Airways (SAA) announced that Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president for North America, has been named as senior vice president, global sales development, effective immediately.  In this newly created position, Cavaliere will oversee several departments within SAA's commercial division including airline alliances, e-commerce, sales planning, distribution, customer call centers and regulatory affairs.  Cavaliere will now be based at South African Airways' headquarters in Johannesburg.
