Carmen Torres has left her position as Media Supervisor at 22Squared in Tampa,FL where she supervised several accounts including Publix. Torres has accepted a new position as Media Director at an agency in New York.
Nielsen has promoted Mónica Gil (photo) to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nielsen’s new Multicultural Growth and Strategy team, effective immediately.Gil will be responsible for building cross-cultural competencies across Nielsen and its clients. She will focus on crafting innovative approaches to multicultural intelligence that will yield actionable solutions for clients and industry forums. She will also oversee the continued development of Nielsen’s Diverse Intelligence Series, a sequence of reports that provide marketers a closer look at today’s increasingly multicultural population and has become an industry staple, helping brands delve deeper into additional facets of multicultural consumer behavior. Gil will also work closely with Nielsen’s data and measurement sciences to help strengthen the company’s competency in ethnic segment research.
She joined Nielsen in 2004 and most recently served as Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Government Relations. Prior to joining Nielsen, she was a senior member of former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s political campaign team and part of his historic victory in 2005. She also served as Press Secretary for the speaker of the California State Assembly and was Director of Public Affairs and Community Outreach for Telemundo stations in Los Angeles.
Kristen Gonzales (photo) will be Celebrando´s, one of the main Latina Conferences, new event coordinator for the for the 2014 annual conference.Kristen is owner and CEO of Social Royalty-Events, which will spearhead this year Celebrando´s festivities, to be held on August 23, 2014. She has been involved with the event since 2013, when she first attended as a sponsor spoke person.Before founding Social Royalty, Gonzales held leading marketing and public relations positions in the government, small business, and non-profit sectors including, Marketing & PR Director and Event Coordinator for The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in El Paso, Texas. Recently, She has been recognized for her work as Marketing &PR director for Hispanic owned, Divino Plastic Surgery and for her position as Events Chair for San Diego Cancer organization, We Support C.
