The Telemundo Station Group named television veteran Barbara Alfonso as Director of the new TeleXitos network, with overall responsibility for programming, sales and digital operations of the multicast channel TeleXitos, a new network that offers viewers a mix of popular action and adventure television series and feature films in Spanish. The new network will initially be available on the multicast channels of the Telemundo Station Group, which serves the largest Spanish-speaking markets in the United States, including Los Angeles, New York and Miami, and will later be available to local stations across the country.
The Hispanic Chamber of Columbus has named Jason P. Riveiro to serve as the Chamber’s board President. Riveiro is currently the Manager of Multicultural Marketing for Columbus based Big Lots.Prior to Big Lots, Jason lead multicultural marketing efforts for Cleveland based Sherwin-Williams. Jason also devotes much time as a volunteer for many non-for-profit organizations.The Board President will lead several key initiatives to increase the presence and expansion of Hispanic businesses in Central Ohio, as well as to continue developing highly successful training programs such as the thriving Latina Mentor Academy. In addition, Riveiro will lead strategic direction and rebranding efforts for 2015 and beyond.
Mondelez International has announced that it will add Joseph Neubauer to its Board of Directors. Neubauer, 73, is Chairman of the Board at Aramark, a leading global provider of professional services.Neubauer joined Aramark in 1979 as Executive Vice President of Finance and Development, CFO and a member of the Board of Directors. He was elected President in 1981, CEO in 1983 and Chairman in 1984. He served as Aramark’s Chairman and CEO until 2012.Prior to Aramark, Neubauer held senior positions with PepsiCo, Inc. from 1971 to 1979, including Senior Vice President of PepsiCo’s Wilson Sporting Goods Division and Vice President and Treasurer of the parent company, PepsiCo, Inc. From 1965 to 1971, he was with the Chase Manhattan Bank.Neubauer serves on the Board of Directors of Macy’s Inc. Neubauer received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
Telemundo Puerto Rico / WKAQ announced today that Lourdes Dávila has been named Vice President of Sales. Dávila will be responsible for developing and implementing all local, national and digital sales strategies in Puerto Rico for WKAQ.Before being named Vice President of Sales for Telemundo Puerto Rico, Dávila worked as Local Sales Manager from 2008 to 2014. She began her career in television advertising in 1987 at WKAQ working in different roles of increasing responsibility.
Televisa Publishing + Digital has announced an executive reshuffle in its’ Miami-based corporate office management. Sergio Carrera, General Manager of the U.S. Hispanic market, has been replaced by Televisa Publishing’s own Christian Rojas, effective immediately.Christian Rojas comes from Mexico’s Headquarters, where he served as the Sales Director for the Mexico region. Prior to that he was Publisher for all Hearst Titles in Mexico. Christian has worked for Televisa Publishing for 15 years.
Public relations, marketing and digital firm RockOrange has announced three key additions to its senior leadership team:
Ray Muñoz, previously a senior manager at Coral Gables-based marketing firm kabookaboo, has been added as senior director, agency operations with RockOrange. His role will focus on handling the organizational and structural aspects of the agency.
Reporter and Editor David Quiñones, the former managing editor of PODER Hispanic Magazine and recently the digital news editor at Fusion, is joining the agency as vice president, editorial and content.
Mahogani Jones will be RockOrange’s director of new business development and marketing activations.
