Multi-platform Hispanic-owned media company Media Vista Group has named Spanish television and Hispanic marketing veteran Antonio J. Guernica to the newly created position of Station Group Manager with responsibility for Univision, UniMas and Azteca America in the Ft. Myers-Naples market as well as for Univision Minneapolis and Kansas City and their digital properties.
Minnesota native Robert Villones joins Media Vista as General Manager of Univision Minneapolis from El Dorado Broadcasters where he held the position of Director of Sales in Yuma, Arizona. Robert also served as General Manager for the Adelante Media Group in the Tri-Cities of Washington State, as National/Local Sales Manager for Summit Media in Las Vegas and as Account Executive for CBS, also in Las Vegas.
Raul Galofre is Founder at Plumaz, a web-based content generation and knowledge sharing platform for consumers and enterprises. Previously Galofre worked at U.S. Media Consulting.
Agency McMURRY/TMG has hired Peter Kornberg as Chief Experience Officer. Kornberg brings with him nearly 20 years of creative agency experience. He most recent role was as the Executive Vice President, General Manager with Prime Access in New York City.
Castalia Communications Corporation (Castalia) has hired cable industry veteran Robert Watson for the post of Senior Vice President, U.S. Distribution. Robert Watson brings to Castalia more than 30 years of experience in customer-focused product management, marketing and strategy development in the cable and telecommunications industry. Before forming his own consultancy serving broadcasters, cable networks and pay TV operators, Watson spent 16 years with Time Warner Cable.In addition to assuming the role of Senior Vice President, U.S. Distribution with Castalia’s existing clients, Bob will bring to the company his own current clients, which include Bermuda Cablevision and Crossings TV, among others.
AC&M, the Carolinas multicultural marketing firm, will appoint former Rooster Communications president, Brian Cockman, as senior vice president of PR to lead its public relations efforts, which includes multicultural and Hispanic outreach for clients. Cockman, 38, has served as a PR consultant for AC\&M since 2012 while running Charlotte based Rooster Communications.
CNN en Español has announced the appointment of José Manuel Rodríguez as Senior Correspondent in Miami beginning October 1. He will be responsible for covering the most powerful and relevant personalities and the news of the day, in a market that generates relevant content to the region.Previously, Rodriguez served as Head of News Production for the Southern Cone from Buenos Aires.Rodriguez has been in charge of the production of several special series: A week of Café CNN from Buenos Aires, Cala in Uruguay and Encuentro in Montevideo.
Spanish Broadcasting System has announced the appointment of Eric Garcia as Revenue Chief of our Radio division. To be effective immediately,Garcia will be responsible for the management and oversight of Local and National Radio Revenues and Event Sponsorships. In his new capacity, Eric will be working closely with to enhance the performance of Radio assets in terms of revenue growth and profitability.
Claudio “El Emperador” Suarez, one of Mexico’s most prominent soccer stars, is the latest addition to FOX Deportes’ roster of soccer analysts. In his role, Suarez serves as a soccer analyst for all UEFA Champions League programming beginning with the Paris Saint-German/Barcelona match today. He joins his former Chivas U.S.A. teammate Mariano Trujillo and longtime commentator John Laguna on the call.
Cisneros Media has announced the appointment of Marcello Coltro as Executive Vice President of Content Distribution. Based in Miami, he will oversee the company’s Pay-Tv and Content Distribution units and report directly to Cisneros Media President Jonathan Blum.Prior to joining Cisneros Media, Coltro held key leadership positions in a number of media companies, including MGM Networks Latin America, Country Music Television (CMT), TVA Brasil and DIRECTV Brasil.
