CMR – Mexico

Mexican Restaurant chain CMR, the owner of brands such as elago, Fonda Mexicana, Meridiem, and Wings is going to substantially increase its advertising budget in 2012. Rodrigo Ruiz Piñeiro, brand manager at CMR, said during last weeks Portada Mexico Advertising and Media Forum in Mexico City that an important part of CMR’s  budget is going to be allocated towards cinema advertising.

  • Audi – Mexico

Also at Portada’s Mexico Forum, Lucia Carreon, Communications and Marketing Manager at Audi Mexico, noted that her company expects to also increase its allocation towards Cinema Advertising. Carreon praised the cost efficiency of the medium and added that cinema advertising makes it possible to reach a captive and targeted audience. Audi Mexico mostly targets higher income Mexicans. In order to achieve that objective, media buying in specialty automotive publications is also part of the mix.  

  • Marriott Hotels / MEC – Global

MEC will be the media planning and buying agency for all of Marriott's brands worldwide including Marriott Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Rewards.  Pending signed contract, MEC will officially begin work effective November 1, 2011.

  • Havaianas / Alma BBDO – Brazil

Alma BBDO and Havaianas have launched a new print campaign in Brazil “Top Mix”. The campain will be runed in magazines, showing the new mix of colours of the sandals.

  • Bellísima / MEC – Argentina

Bellisima has picked MEC after a pitch to handle its media planning and buying for its new campaign “Mothers Day” in Argentina.

  • Sainsbury / Future Brand / AMV.BBDO – Global

Sainsbury's is rolling out its 'Here's to Extraordinary' brand identity for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The branding, created by FutureBrand and AMV.BBDO, aims to deliver a consistent identity for a the supermarket's sponsorship activity running up to the launch of the games.  'Here's to Extraordinary' advertising campaign will run next year. Branding will appear on delivery vehicles, shopfronts and point-of-sales material.

  • Alfa Romeo – Global

Alfa Romeo, the Fiat-owned Italian car marque, has launched a Facebook campaign to showcase its the high performance capabilities its new MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde vehicle. The campaign involves a video of stunt driver Terry Grant driving the Mito through 2,500 of balloons arranged in the shape of the Alfa Romeo logo, leaving four unburst.

  • Urbana Creative Group – Latin America and USH

Urbana Creative Group, a branding and marketing agency based in Miami, announced the founding of Interaktiva, a digital marketing firm, to serve the growing online branding needs of its customers in the U.S. and Latin America.
