Center for American Progress analyzes both visits from Obama and Rousseff to their countries. Obama visited Brazil just three months after Rousseff´s assumption. “With the emergence of a new global geometry and new centers of economic and political clout, it is clear that the United States has a vital interest in reaching out to democratic powers like Brazil”, said CAP. Few days ago, Rousseff visited US Chamber of Commerce and CAP analyses the consequences of the conference: “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been one of President Obama’s fiercest antagonists, and President Rousseff’s decision to closely align with the organization must be perplexing for those inside the White House seeking close ties with the Brazilian leader.”

» “No más cruces”

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol has launched a new campaign “No más cruces”. Through print and television advertisements, short documentaries and even folk songs called “migra corridos,” CBP has been warning of the dangers of making the illegal trip across the border. According to Examiner CBP aims to Latin American media to spread the message.

» New investments coming to Colombia?

María Claudia Lacouture, President at Proexport Colombia states in an interview for El Pais that Colombia has achieved a better scenario for investments. Lacouture also talks about Colombia´s new economical image and her view about the development of the commerce for this year.
