Gonzalo Alonso has been appointed General Manager of AudioEngage, a new platform just introduced by Entravision Corp. to strengthen its offering of digital audio in the U.S. Hispanic market as well as Latin America. Previously in his career Alonso worked at Cisneros Interactive companies smartycontent and Audio.Ad. The new digital audio platform AudioEngage will provide brands, media agencies and content producers access to the main music, radio and podcast distributors. Entravision’s Chief Strategy Officer, Esteban Lopez Blanco noted that “we are creating one of the largest digital audio platforms in the world. “In the United States we are the largest group for radio/audio targeting Latinos. With Entravision Solutions we are increasing the reach of our audio solutions platform by combining more than 300 radio stations in the whole country. This has enabled us to create the leading audio sales team thanks to the fact that we reach 95% of the Latino population in the U.S.”

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Antonio Roman to senior vice president, Local Media New York Sales for Univision New York. Roman will lead the company’s NY-based sales teams across TV, Digital, Radio and Experiential Marketing. Roman will continue to be based in New York and will report to Jorge Daboub, executive vice president of Local Media Sales and Roberto Yanez, president and general manager of Univision New York. Most recently, Roman served as senior vice president of National Sales leading advertising sales operations across eight offices, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami and others, as well as the national marketing and production team.

 

Patricia Janiot has joined Univision, effective January 2018, as co-anchor of Noticiero Univision Edicion Nocturna and of primetime magazine Aqui y Ahora, where she will work alongside Enrique Acevedo. Janiot joins Univision from CNN en Espanol where she spent 26 years as on-air anchor of assorted news shows. At Univision she succeeds longtime anchor Maria Elena Salinas.

 

 

Rob Norman,  global chief digital officer of GroupM, is stepping down after more than three decades at the company. Norman will remain an advisor to GroupM and clients with a “reduced workload that allows him more time to pursue personal interests,” according to a GroupM statement. He will leave the full-time role effective January 2018. Prior to this role, Norman was CEO of GroupM North America.

 

 

Meg Whitman is stepping down as CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

 

 

 

 

Antonio Neri, currently the company president, will succeed Whitman and handle the dual role. Neri joined HP in 1995.

 

 

 

 

 

Dana Walden, co-chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group, has joined the Hulu board of directors.  Among other Hulu board members are 21st Century Fox president Peter Rice and Fox digital president Brian Sullivan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin O’Brien has joined Abeles & Heymann as Vice President of Sales, Abasto has reported. O’Brien will be responsible for managing and growing sales across the nation for both renowned Glatt Kosher brands. O’Brien was VP of Sales at Manischewitz for over 10 years.
