What: Latina Media Ventures, owners of Latina Magazine, is revamping its digital presence kicking off New Year with Latina Story Lab, Latina TV and more 2018 expansions. Latina’s print issues will still continue in addition to the new content.
Why it matters: Companies that originally had print magazines as their main revenue source have been struggling to adapt to the digital age (e.g. Televisa’s reduced the frequency of its U.S. magazines and Meredith’s Siempre Mujer closed its print magazine).

Latina Media Ventures, owners of Latina Magazine, is leading the new wave of Latinx storytelling with the launch of a revamped digital presence including Latina Story Lab, LatinaTV, and Latina on the road.

The new direction reflects Latina’s shift towards more real-time content, community spotlighting, and supporting Latina storytellers in all forms. While still featuring popular fashion and beauty content the magazine is amplifying its platform to also serve as a voice for the millions of Latinas demanding change on real issues with enhancements and extensions like the Latina Story Lab where they will source and nurture new storytellers in all forms from writing to videos and beyond. Inspired by the powerful impact of movements like the 2017 Women’s March and Latina Equal Pay, Latina is honored to lean in and champion their community.

Latina will also hit the road in 2018, with a new LatiNXT event series to connect and host events to celebrate Latina achievement, inspire and uplift the community across all markets and industries. The new LatinaTV, features original programming that empowers and entertains.

“We will have a mix of scheduled print, special edition issues and exclusive digital-only throughout 2018. Stay tuned!Says Latina President and Editorial Director and Co-President, Robyn Moreno when asked about what the frequency and circulation of Latina will be in 2018.

Digital Winter Issue

The magazine will launch it’s very first digital issue, with Lala Anthony gracing Latina’s Winter cover. The issue features all things Lala, including her addressing the rumors about her relationship with Carmelo Anthony, sharing what it’s like raising her 10-year-old son, Kiyan, in the spotlight and dishing on the projects that are fueling her passion.

The complementary Latina Winter Issue was available on November 16, by visiting latina.com/winter. “We were founded 21 years ago on the belief that you can’t be what you can’t see. It has been our purpose and privilege to spotlight thousands of Latinas who are breaking barriers and changing the game, and we are just getting started,” said Moreno.

According to Moreno, Latina Media Ventures has steadily grown its digital footprint and “next year we expand into video and experiential. You know Latina.com has been up for over 10 years but in 2015 we created “LATINA Reach” which is our DSP platform that extends our online reach into 95% of the Web. We launched TheLatinKitchen.com about 5 years ago and next year we are launching The Latina Story Lab, LatinaTV, and Latina on the Road.”

Moreno took over the co-presidency of Latina Media Ventures sharing the co-presidency with Asten Morgan after the resignation last June of acting president Brett Wright.
