Michael Ferro, the Chicago tech entrepreneur who recently bought a stake in 16.6% stake in Tribune Publishing has made major personnel changes at Tribune including the ouster of CEO Jack Griffin who was substituted by Ferro's long-term business associate Justin Dearborn. Michael Rooney, the chief revenue officer since 2014, has left the company, while Denise Warren, a former New York Times executive who became president of digital and CEO of Tribune's East Coast newspapers last May, has been shown the door, too. Davan Maharaj, editor of the Los Angeles Times, has been named publisher as well, part of a sweeping reorganization by the newspaper's parent company, Tribune Publishing Co. Editors at eight other Tribune papers will assume similar dual roles as editor-publishers, and many of the publishers to whom they once reported are leaving the company.
Barbara Miller has accepted a new position as VP, Sales and Marketing at FLUVIP, a programmatic platform for Influencer Marketing in the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets. Previously Miller worked at Latina.
Max Ramirez has been appointed Director of Advertising and Multicultural Sales at iHeart Media. As Director of Sales, Ramirez will lead the Multicultural advertising sales efforts for iHeart Media integrated properties which include radio, digital, mobile, social media, on-air influencers and live concerts such as: iHeartRadio Music Festival, the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party, Jingle Ball, Fiesta Latina and Wango Tango.
Alexandre Hohagen, former CEO of Google and Facebook in Latin America and US Hispanics, is joining Nobox, a full-service marketing agency to continue developing its strong Latin America business, as CEO and Partner. Hohagen will bring his experience with advertising and technology in these markets with the goal to further enhance the agency's relevancy and footprint for its marquee clients including Netflix, PlayStation, Hotel Tonight, Marriott, Copa Airlines, Royal Caribbean and Volkswagen.Read more.

Scripps Networks Interactive has announced the appointment of media and technology veteran Eduardo Hauser to the position of Managing Director, Latin America and the Caribbean. Hauser joins the company on March 7 and will be based in Miami.Read more.
Rani Melendez has joined The Mill’s studio in Los Angeles as Managing Director. Melendez comes from the Traktor collective, where for the last 17 years he progressed into Head of Production and then Executive Producer.Melendez’s appointment reinforces the focus of The Mill in Los Angeles in partnering with agencies and clients to help deliver outstanding work.
Anthony Nelson has been named to the newly created position of head of content production at J.Walter Thompson New York. In this role, he will oversee development of video and film content for the agency's clients. He was most recently an executive producer at Thursday Afternoon Films. Prior to that he was a director of production at Goodby Sliverstein & Partners New York. He also served as a group executive producer at BBDO, working on the General Electric account, and held positions at FCB New York and at Crispin Porter + Bogusky.
Benjamin Palmer, Chairman of The Barbarian Group, is leaving the company. Palmer co-founded The Barbarian Group with five others in 2001. Palmer has also served as president of The Art Directors Club and sits on the board of New York performance space The Kitchen.
