Shoreline Entertainment is about to launch a Latino management and production and longtime Shoreline collaborator and producer Alex Flores has been appointed to head it. Flores spent the last decade developing film funds with Shoreline Entertainment while producing animation for Animex, Olmos Productions and Phil Roman Entertainment. He most recently co-produced “El Americano: The Movie,” touted as the first Mexican-U.S. animation co-production. The new division will produce content in both English and Spanish and will be a natural extension of Shoreline’s management and sales divisions.
Matt Neidl has been appointed Head of U.S. Multicultural and Latin American Sales at UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), Neidl tells Portada that his new position will entail the offering of sponsorship and media sales opportunities for brands targeting the U.S. Hispanic segment as well as companies wanted to leverage UFC properties in Latin America. UFC properties include fighting championship live events, including UFC, UFC Fight Night and UFC Fight Pass, as well as "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" Reality Show, In Studio Show "UFC Ahora" and "UFC Golpe a Golpe."
Audio.Ad, a provider of digital audio advertising solutions in Latin America, has announced its commercial expansion into in the U.S. Hispanic market. Based in Miami, Florida, the Cisneros Interactive company will provide advertising campaigns in digital audio formats to advertisers and agencies for the U.S. Hispanic market with the potential of pan-regional reach.Nestor Perinot, a veteran advertising executive with more than 12 years of experience in the digital industry, was appointed Vice President of Sales and will head Audio.Ad’s operations in the United States.Before joining Audio.ad, Mr. Perinot was Vice President of Sales during his 11-year tenure at Orange Advertising.
Cross-cultural agency the community, part of SapientNitro, has announced the appointment of Juan Cruz Vassallo as Associate Creative Director. Based in Miami, he will report directly to Creative Director Rodrigo Butori. Prior to joining the community, Vassallo was an Associate Creative Director at Conill Saatchi & Saatchi and LatinWorks. A native of Argentina, Vassallo began his career as a Senior Copywriter at Ponce Buenos Aires and as a Junior Copywriter at J. Walter Thompson Argentina.

Telemundo 60 San Antonio / KVDA has named Jairo Lozano Video Journalist for Noticias 60 Telemundo, which airs weekdays at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM, effective immediately. He will join News Anchors Arlena Amaro and Alex Hernandez, Weather Anchor Lilian Perez, Sports Anchor Johnathan Solarte and a dynamic team of reporters. His will make his on-air debut in mid-February. Lozano joined the Telemundo family in 2013-He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Telemundo Houston / KTMD has announced that Carlos Robles has been named Meteorologist for Telemundo Houston’s weekday newscasts, Noticiero Telemundo Houston at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM. Robles will join Telemundo Houston’s weather team, La Autoridad en el Tiempo (Weather Authority), as well as News Anchors Martin Berlanga and Paulina Sodi. Prior to joining Telemundo Houston, Robles worked as a Meteorologist for Univision 45 Houston / KXLN for nine years.
Ed Castillo has been named to the newly created position of global chief strategy officer at Arnold Worldwide. He was most recently chief strategy officer at TBWA/Chiat/Day New York. He has also served as senior VP, director of account planning at media agency PHD, as a planning director at North and as director of account planning at R&R Partners.
Liberman Broadcasting has announced that Mexican journalist Pedro Ferriz Hijar has joined the company as news anchor of Cierre de Edición, the network's national evening newscast.Ferriz Hijar has extensive of experience covering politics, government and economic issues across Mexico at some of the country's leading media outlets including Efeckto Noticias, Poder Mexico Radio, Poder America, Hola TV, TV Mexiquense and other news media. He earned a Masters Degree at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, Spain.
The New York Time has appointed former WebMD and Yahoo exec Lisa Ryan Howard as senior vice president for advertising, effective on February 22. Howard will oversee international ad sales across categories including luxury, fashion, jewellery, retail, home, corporate and education, and report to Meredith Kopit Levien. After 14 years at Condé Nast, in 2010 Howard joined Billboard magazine as publisher, before being hired by Yahoo as business lead for the women’s lifestyle category. In late 2014, she joined WebMD as chief of consumer strategy.
Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles has appointed Romina Bongiovanni as Director of Earned Media. She will report to John Lisko, Executive Director of Communications. Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi in 2015, Romina worked at cross-cultural agency, Sensis. A former President of the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), Romina has also held leadership roles at top U.S. Hispanic agencies. Saatchi & Saatchi also appointed Mike Cooperman as Director of Public Relations for the agency.
